VEAB Commemorative Award to Otto Veisz

Ottó Veisz, director of the ATK Institute of Agriculture, received the award, in recognition of his academic and public activities, which made a long-lasting contribution to the scientific and public work of MTA VEAB enriching the scientific public life of the region and forming the public opinion about the Veszprém Academic Committee.

The Veszprém Academic Committee (VEAB) was established by the Presidium of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences at its meeting in September 1972. The Presidium of MTA VEAB commemorates the fiftieth anniversary with a series of jubilee events entitled “Half a century for science in Pannonia”. As part of the program, VEAB commemorative awards were handed over by the Board of VEAB in recognition of contribution to the scientific and public work of MTA VEAB, among others, to the former president of VEAB, academician Ottó Veisz.
